Welcome!

Quietus of the Lich

By passion ever plagued,
Halcyon days at heart ;
A decaying carcass
whose dreams shall deny death.

Inspired by undead monsters of fantasy, this grimoire is meant to rule crypts and cemeteries, hanging at the belt of a gloomy necromancer.

It is a slender ribcage of wood maintained by tendrils of rope. Underneath its skin of leather lies a flesh of cotton rag.
A bookmark of thin leather rests among its pages.
On the outside, two phalanxes of rope crawl out of its spine, eager to hang at a necromancer's belt.

Through withstanding lifetimes of seclusion and relinquishment, its cover has been torn apart on each and every layer.
Its leather and cloth both have surrendered their efforts to fully contain the wooden boards of the cover, which in turn leaks glimpses of pages it can harbor no longuer.

The book features 320 pages (160 short-grain sheets of 80gsm) in A5 format.
It is made of calf and sheep leather, cotton cloth and black locust wood.
Fixations and joints are of brass rivets, linen thread and sisal rope.

It measures 25 x 24 x 9cm (Width x Height x Thickness), including the extra width and thickness of the rope and belt spine suspensions. If we omit the spine suspensions, the actual cover width is 18cm.

Limitation

Despite the book achieving a very robust construction, the edges of both the cover cloth and leather have been heavily damaged to accomodate for a decaying look. I advise not to try ripping it more in any way, as unplanned shreds risk unravelling more than expected.
Note that such additional damage might alter the overall look of the book, but wouldn't endanger its structure.
