Welcome!

Books

Books are beautiful objects, vessels to our dreams and memories.

Of all the stories we have read, there are a fewer ones that we loved deep inside.
Those are the ones that stand on our bookshelves, not in between other books, but before them ; their cover proudly defying visitors.

Those few books are each of us' treasures.

Crafting a book

As someone who loves old tales, I bind and cover books using wood and leather ; with the hope of giving their allure a fragment of their content's grandeur.

I started making journals as a kind of "mini" version of my grimoires, with a focus on keeping it much simpler, less intimidating.
To do so, I had to experiment in multiple directions, with techniques and tools I was less familiar.
My goal was a good balance between that simplicity I was after and the appealing aspect of complex interlacings of materials.

After numerous attempts and some spiralling down the "it-just-cannot-work" toboggan, I could get there by using smoother surfaces, a few elements of hardware, and skipping hand-sewing signatures.
Add a drop of copper etching in the mix, and the result felt finally right.

I put lots of effort in each and every binding, because I know that they will be someone's special.
